How Are You Arriving Today?

I found myself struggling a bit last week. I wasn't sure what I should or wanted to post here that could potentially help others. My reminder went back off again this morning and I still wasn't sure, so I started cleaning out some old emails in a personal email address on my phone and I came across one from my yoga studio reminding me of class.

It says- "Hello Family, How are you arriving today? We didn't go through almost two years of pandemic for some small talk. Some questions to ask instead of how are you - How are you arriving today? How's your heart and mind? What's exciting your spirit this week?'

So, my thanks go out to Madison Pike Yoga now Third Eye Farmacopia for a very timely and needed reminder even if it was an old message.

What a long, strange trip we have been on for the last several years. It's easy to be caught up in the chaos and worry to the point where we aren't truly listening to ourselves or others. How often have you asked someone important to you "How are you?" and they responded "Fine" but neither of you were actually fine? It wasn't a sincere question or answer, just a sense of polite duty in asking and answering. This morning I asked myself those very questions. I didn't analyze or judge my own internal responses. I acknowledged how I felt and did not put a label of good or bad on those feelings. It gave me a chance to better understand my own mindset and to continue with my day from a place of acceptance for myself.

How am I arriving today? - I am anxious and a little concerned. I am growing Working Mindfully and learning all things social media and video production. We're heading into the holidays which are always remarkably busy. I worry that I will not get all my tasks and to-do lists completed in time or that I will miss something important.

How is my heart and mind? - My mind is busy and dropping into a familiar mode where I must organize my thoughts and my tasks by priority to stay on track. My heart is full because I have an amazing team who will stay on top of things for work and who will keep me in the loop on any potential issues. I have a loving husband and kids (including my son's girlfriend) who have taken tasks off my plate when needed so that I can focus.

What is exciting my spirit this week? - I am excited that the channel and the Working Mindfully site are growing. My spirit is thrilled that I am continuing to make progress on my yoga teacher training with a wonderful yoga community that teaches each other how to practice on and off the mat in our everyday lives. My spirit is elated that I have been able to read for pleasure again instead of for a class or research.

Take the time to ask yourselves and those around you these questions today. Be honest with yourself but do not place judgement on how you feel. Tell me friends. How are you arriving today? How is your heart and mind? What is exciting your spirit this week?
